Something is afoot!

Mama is getting a tad agitated I can tell. People keep coming in... some people are saying natural, some people are saying c-section. What's a natural? do they mean a no-lye relaxer? I think my mom used to have one of those. Dad would never wear such a thing on his head. He's got style.

I do know one thing... people keep coming in here trying to evict me from my cozy little home in here. I got it made... I get all the good food (Mcdonalds, steak, pancakes)... but something tells me once I'm evicted my diet will be reduced to milk and... well milk. Lord help me.

  1. Granny is waiting on you. I love you very much. You have so much ahead of you. Just you wait. When your system can take it, you will have homemade biscuits, homemade pancakes, homemade waffles, eggs cooked the way you like, etc.... That milk and water diet won't last long. Granny is waiting on you. Although I haven't seen you, I already love you with all my heart.

  3. Nana Sadie, can we have you as our Nana too? We want some homemade... well, anything. We would love for you to spoil us as well. Although we are not biologically yours, we would love to be adopted by a grandmother (and mom) such as you. We can't have enough grandma's (ma's) who love us unconditionally.

So Trey, won't you share the love of your grandmother with your family in Houston? We have already embraced you as part of our own family when we learned you were on your way. To solidify that we will always remember this blessed day, you were born on your Auntie Toi's mom's birthday - no need to worry that we will forget your gifts. If you are just willing to share the love your Nana Sadie is about to immerse you in, we will be forever grateful.

Your family here in Houston loves you very much and we will be sure to give you all the toys your parents can't stand to hear, sweets they don't want you to eat, and fast cars they don't want you to drive. And when they are giving you a hard time, you can call us and we will take your side and tell them they are being too much like their parents were to them. We will let them know that they don't understand you because they haven't ever experienced what you are enduring... or, or, school is too hard, your curfew is too early, and that you aren't too young to have a girlfriend, date, sag your pants or be a REAL man. We will let them know that you are grown, you know what is good for you, and you can make wise decisions. Yup, that is us... your Houston family just waiting to pick up the reins of child rearing since we all know that it does take a village (or a family support system) to raise a child. We are, indeed, excited about our new task.

    Your loving extended family,

    The Beckums
(your Auntie Toi wrote on behalf of Uncle Beckum, cousin Najee, Cousin Egypt, Cousin Orlando, and Cousin Kai. With just our family alone, you will not be without many cousins to hang out with as you grow.)
